G’day everyone,

We’re really appreciative for the support so far, helping us hit our initial target so quickly. What this means is that we can get things underway with certainty. We are on track as planned to get the products to those who have pledged so far. We have some of the materials prepped and are working with suppliers to organise the rest. This all means that once we’re back in the workshop, we’ll be straight into things.

Thanks this week to Dale, Kevan and Noah for their pledges this week.

It’s been a strange old year that’s for sure… In part the reason that we are launching Plank Audio now, is because of the disruptions of this year. At the start of the year we both found ourselves without work, so we decided to develop some ideas that had been bouncing around for awhile. Over the course of the last 6 months, with the help of a number of friends, Plank Audio has come to be.

This year has highlighted the importance of giving back where you can and looking out for those around you. Now that we’ve hit our target and still some time to go, we’d like to share things around a bit. So we’ve decided to donate 10% of the profits from the Pozible campaign to the following two groups.

Brotherhood of St Laurence
(BSL), is a “social justice organisation working alongside people experiencing disadvantage to address the fundamental causes of poverty in Australia.” We’ve been big fans of BSL’s holistic, research driven approach to campaigning on and enacting programs and services for change to address the fundamental causes of poverty in Australia.

Indigenous Literacy Foundation
(ILF) “…has grown from their basic belief that every child has the right to reach their full potential through education, to ensuring that many remote communities have access to books and other literacy resources in their homes, as well as books in their own community languages.” We’ve been a fan of ILF’s efforts to deliver programs providing essential resources for children and community to build literacy skills and help preserve language and culture.

For the remainder of the campaign we’ve set a stretch goal of $20,000 to aim for. This will allow us to speed up the development of additional components for the production desk. With these components you will be able to adapt the desk to how you like to work and create.

On the drawing board first up are  drawers and a keyboard tray. The drawers will be able to swap in for the lower rack mounts, giving you extra storage space for hard drives, cables etc.

The keyboard tray will allow the space for you to put your favourite keyboard within reach, while mixing or composing your latest work.

Finally we will be developing a set of designs for studio monitor stands that will compliment the desk or stand alone.

If there are other additions you’d like to see, drop us a note (info@plankaudio.com.au)

The first release 12U studio rack boxes have sold out. A 2nd release has now been listed. If you are interested in picking up a first release, check out the Pozible page for the remaining rewards and secure yours today.

Stay safe and stay tuned,
